Modern transfer cases do more than simply change gear ranges and send torque to both front and rear wheels. Today, they dynamically split the torque between axles resulting in significantly improved traction and operating smoothness. The ambient environment ranges from -40 to 150°C and is subject to strong mechanical vibrations, water and automotive fluids.
